German Soldier. Hello, my name is Stefan Liebe. I am 27 years old and i have a wife and 3 children
back home in a little village called alkmaar, Germany.
I got recruited about a year and a half ago. I thought I was
only going to be here for 5 months and be
back by Christmas, but we aren't even close to being done here.
I opperat a tank in the war and it is very advanced.
Germany is in this war because we invaided belgum to get to France
and demolished it, they were a neutral
country. France got angry because of that. Don't get me wrong, i love
my country and I am proud of how we haveimproved with our military and our industrial problems, but i am missing my family because of something Germany did. I did not make that decision and
I am getting punished for it. We hid in trenches that werefilled with fats and plenty of bugs. At night itsfreezing and in the day it is scolding hot. the food isn't so great either. I just really miss home.
1914: A terrorist group called the Black Hand killed the Archduke and his wife. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand affected us
because Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary was all allies, so if one of us got attacked all of us pitched
in and helped one another.
When Franz died the whole world was in
shock and it affected many people.
One of Germany's plans was called the schlieffen plan. A man named Alfred Graf Von Schlieffen came up with it.
the schlieffen plan didn't work. However, it was a well thought out plan.
The plan was to go through Belgum
and demolish that country and then go into France and knock
out them the same way we did Belgum. After they faught France they were
suppose to head to Russia and begin
another war with them, but it didn't work out that
way. While we were in a war with France,
Russia was ready for war. This became a two front war.

Russia leaves and the USA enters Now, Russia has singed a treaty to Germany to
leave the war. It makes it easier for us because there is one less
country we have to fight. But, then I
found out that nowAmericais in the war. America's army is strong
but so is ours. I thought that since Russia was leaving the
war I could leave sooner and get back to
my family. i miss them all so much. but now it looks like I'm
going to be here just as long as
i was because America is in now.
December 24,1914
On Christmas I didn't get to come home and see my
family. I wounder how their Christmas is.
Christmas morning I woke up in nasty, smelly bed in my trench.
I heard laughter and cheerful sounds. I had
no clue what was happening. So, i got up out of bed and came
out my trench. I saw everyone getting along
and sharing chocolate and other sweets. I couldn't
believe my eyes. The allies and
central powers were actually getting along.
This was probably one of the best Christmas's I have ever
had. My heart was at peace. It was a Christmas truse.
Trip Home June 28,1928
I get to go home today and finally see me family!
I have missed them so much.
I am so glad this war is over and I dont have to worry
about sleeping in a muddy trench.
i get to go home and take a shower, see my
family, and sleep in a warm bed. I cannot wait to get
home. This is the best day
of my life. I can only thank God for me making it out
alive and seeing my family.
